Week 42: Half Mission Conference and so. many. MIRACLES
Odds and Ends
---Sister Carter pulled over and parked partially in a ditch. The ground seemed farther away when I got out... turns out the back left tire was entirely off the ground!
---My comps heard me open my candy cane Hershey kisses in the back of the car. Instantly, both of them reach back with "the dad hand" asking for tax and to share the goods.
---Tiwi (our little driving coach) has a camera now.
---One Elder sang a song from Hamilton for our half mission talent show and I just about died. I miss my Hamilton tunes!
---Had breakfast for 3 meals in one day
---A cute cat named Gato curled up in my lap during a lesson. I watched it carefully after 15 minutes on my lap. It definitely had fleas. Eeeewwwww!
---We went to a mental home to visit some friends. In the background of our spiritual thought with Ronald and Brother Crayne, we hear, "YOUUUU ARE SOOOO BEAUTIFULLLLLL... TO MEEEEEEEE, CANT YOU SEEEEEEE!!!!" I had to try so hard to focus and not get distracted. I love little Rascals.
---The same lady who sang the little rascal song came by and sang a song she made up about McDonald's. It went "🎵Fries in my toes, burgers in my nose, the last time I went there, they stole my underwear🎵"
---I got to hold a baby chick and make some little glue skirts for the Morales family!
Miracles
☆☆☆We had our half mission conference and I got to sing Mary's Lullaby for our talent show! I was so honored to share my grandmas masterpiece.
☆☆☆We stopped by this SWEET older couple named the Duvall's. I saw their baby grand piano just sitting there. I asked if i could play a song and whipped out Peace in Christ, that I learned a long long time ago! They loved it. I also forced my comps to sing with me, and man they loved it and afterwards said "We need to do that more! That was fun!" Haha mission accomplished!
☆☆☆Beth lost her sweet mom this week. I was able to sing Families Can Be Together Forever. She knows she needs to come back to church. And were able to offer her lots of comfort through Jesus Christ!
☆☆☆We met Jeanne this week, through our member Sister Followell. And oh my goodness it so sad! Jeanne lost her 8 year old daughter in her sleep. She needs to know the message of eternal families! We met her for the first time and she opened up quickly. She told us all about sweet Macey. She wanted a sign from God. A few minutes later I kid you not---a painting fell off the wall. Whaaaat? Yeah. I know. Anywho, we didn't get to say much. But she said she'd never felt the peace we brought before, even though we didn't say much. The miracle of the Holy Ghost! It leaves a lasting impression on peoples hearts.
☆☆☆We ALWAYS pray in the car before every appointment. We were visiting Brother Crayne and he came outside and we waved right before we started praying. He said the moment we bowed our heads he could FEEL the power of our prayer. I guess i never knew the impact of a missionary's prayer! Loved hearing his sweet experience ♡
☆☆☆ Sister Wardrop had to pee, like she often does. So we made a pitstop. We stopped at Walmart to grab some dinner and for her to relieve her teeny bladder. The front bathroom was closed, so we had to go to the one in the back. And LO AND BEHOLD we are walking to the back and see our friend Harriett we hasn't been able to contact! GOD IS SO GOOD! Like when you consider all the factors of that miracle... it just proves to me that God is so aware of his children.
☆☆☆We had a Bing to go visit Monique even though we've stopped by so many times. And then BAM she was home! We set up a return appointment. We trusted in the Lord's timing and he provided!
☆☆☆We were prompted to stop by our friend Nicole's house. We had a mini lesson and set a date for her to be baptized! Eeee!
☆☆☆José just lost his mother. His sister is a member of our congregation, and she has been a huge example to him. And now, he also wants to prepare to be baptized! Ahhh! Miracles are real!
Spiritual Thought
Alma 23:6"And as sure as the Lord liveth, so sure as many as believed, or as many as were brought to the knowledge of the truth, through the preaching of Ammon and his brethren, according to the spirit of revelation and of prophecy, and the power of God working miracles in them—yea, I say unto you, as the Lord liveth, as many of the Lamanites as believed in their preaching, and were converted unto the Lord, never did fall away." As we are fully converted and work hand in hand with God, we will be strengthened and be able to see miracles come to pass! I've seen this more and more in my life as I stay focused on my Lord and Savior. I invite each of you to become converted and ask the Lord in prayer what you can do to further your conversion ♡♡♡
