Week 32: M&Ms, Nun eyes, and Conference!
Okay. NO time to waste. Into my brain for the past week!
Odds and Ends
---Sister Ramos made BOMB sweet potato brownies that don't use any sugar. Sounds nasty, but they were heavenly
---I had to clean up dog poop from a couch
-We almost successfully pranked Brother Black with a Halloween toilet cover with spiders on it
---My chair fell over and SLAMMED to the ground when I stood up to bear my testimony for zone conference
---We were in lock down and couldn't leave the house due to Hurricane Ian. We are safe and just had a tropical storm!
---I saw 2 friends from my high school that are now missionaries in the missionary choir for general conference! Elder Brandon Lee and Elder Harrison Durrant!
---I successfully entertained a 3 year old for 20 minutes with M&Ms
---When we realized we might want to have backup snacks in case we can't go to the store because of the hurricane, we wandered around for a while and only left with our own personal box of Z bars haha!
---its sweater weather over here in SC!
---a member gave us a baseball bat for protection to put by our beds
---I found out our apartment is not up to code because we have no windows in our bedroom.
---we were supporting our friend Patrick's son PJ at his football game, and the back magnet to my tag fell off. I was sitting on the bleachers and was trying hard not to let it drop. I had to awkwardly fish around for it without anyone noticing...
---we started a sticky note miracle wall! It's massive and it's only been 4 days!
---David called me a scriptorian and also the question queen. πHe also told me I gave him "nun eyes" when I wanted him to focus and take the message seriously instead of joking and changing the topic.π He proceeded to tell us he used to throw grapes on the ground so the nuns would fall...π§
Miracles
---In Zone Conference this week we learned how to find true joy, and how to be obedient even in the little things to bring about miracles!
---I had the thought to visit our friend Fanny and LeRoy, and they weren't home. But we found Franky and he's interested in learning about eternal families.
---We brought M&Ms with us for all of conference to play conference bingo and to have conference treats. I gave some to Arthur, and in the middle of the first speaker he starts CHOKING. All of us look around not sure what to do, and thankfully he spits it out. Anita says "you got no teeth you gotta be careful!" We tried to tell him to just suck on one at a time. A few minutes later, he's choking again! I got up to go take these M&Ms from this 75 year old man, and he SHOVES them into his pocket so I can't take them. Well I tried to save him haha!
---We went to drop off a treat to Shaylei for conference and it turns out it was her BIRTHDAY! GOD KNEW!
---Our member family, the Luz fam, invited Nicole and her kids Andrew Dylan and Raelynn came to watch the primary program last week. We invited them to watch conference together, and they ended up inviting us to join too! Then after conference, Nicole started asking questions and felt that the speakers spoke right to her. She began to cry when we told her God is aware of her! She agreed to take the lessons and is so excited for her kids too!
---Our conference session plans about who to watch which sessions with were wrecked all week. But God helped them fall together perfectly to where we watched every session with a friend we are teaching!
---Audrey is so close to being ready to be baptized. We went after conference to sing a song and have a testimony meeting, and the Spirit was exploding out of the room! Audrey and all of us cried and she bore a gorgeous testimony. Sister Bradshaw and I bore very different testimonies, but both spoke to Audreys needs! Brother Black even invited his wife to be baptized. She's close, but still wants some confirmations. I thought about what to do next. I opened my mouth not knowing what is was going to say, and i heard myself invite them to go to the temple grounds this week and pray about her question. I know God will answer her! She's ready to embrace the full happiness the gospel has to offer her. She's a woman who will work mighty miracles in God's plan!
---Patrick accidentally told us 30 minutes early for Pjs game, so we got to run and grab dinner we had pushed off all night!
---Hurricane Ian hit my first area by the coast, Surfside and Georgetown. Thankfully everyone is safe!
Spiritual Thought
A few weeks ago I wrote a positive affirmation. In it, I felt prompted to write "I choose to be chosen." As I listened to Elder Bednar's talk in conference this past weekend, he pretty much read my positive affirmation! CHOOSE TO BE CHOSEN! I know God wanted me to remember those words I know are true. Throughout the history of the world, God's chosen people are those who CHOOSE to be righteous! I I invite you all to choose to be chosen everyday, and you will not have regrets, and you will have nothing to fear. ❤️
