Week 2: IN PERSON at Provo MTC!!

Image
For 2 weeks now, I've been a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I wear my name on my chest, and I am a representative of Christ everywhere I go. This week I started my training in PROVO UTAH!  Packing Packing for 18 months is not a walk in the park. Thank goodness my mom and dad are master packers! It'll be interesting when I'll have to pack it all up again... one of my suitcases weighed 64 lbs. Not sure how my little self is gonna roll 3 hefty suitcases around when I leave for South Carolina. My dad was sneaky and snuck at least 4 little notes in various places in my suitcases and it made me so unbelievably happy when I found them while unpacking. I'm telling you, the best packing meister in the world, and the best dad. Sorry everyone, he's all mine.   The AIRPORT This was the hardest day on the mish so far. But I know that this is not goodbye for my family, once I get into the swing of things, it'll feel like I'm coming home to...

HELLO EVERYONE!!! Sister Palmer here! First, I want all of you to know God loves you SO much, you are priceless to him. And I love you so much too! I am so excited to be a part of the Lord's work. So far, training has been VERY BUSY. I have gained the talent of eating meals in 3 minutes. There are so many resources and classes provided to us, and it makes for a very full day, but a spiritual one! MEET MY COMPANION Sister Horman is my AMAZING companion. She is so connected to the Spirit, she has such a tender heart, and her laugh is contagious. She made me feel so loved immediately. We clicked so fast, I feel like we are both very bubbly people who want to be everyone's friend! We even have the same watch! She is a talented cosmetologist and plays the ukulele! I can't wait to make more lasting memories with her. She's a keeper for sure❤️ MY DISTRICT My district is the bomb(dot)com. A district is a small group of missionaries, both sisters and elders, and we are all new...

My FAREWELL One more week. One more week until I say goodbye to my family for a time. One more week until I put aside all worldly distractions and personal affairs. And most importantly, one more week until I get to spend 18 months as a bigger piece in God’s plan. Teaching, serving, and constantly loving. I’ll get to be upgraded from just Brooklyn Palmer to Sister Palmer. I guess I’ll have to get used to that really soon! While waiting for my mission to start, I had the privilege of being called into nursery, where I was later moved up to Sunbeams, as well as Activity Days. All the Sundays and Wednesdays with these kids have been a huge blessing. In nursery the lessons were short and sweet, their attention spans matching their little size. But it taught me how to summarize the important details. Then I got the chance to transition with a few of my nursery kids to sunbeams, like sweet Emmy and Zeke. Sitting there in the front row to sing the songs can be a lot for some of them. It’s no ...
